If you are obtaining quotes from multiple haulers and are not using the services of a licensed and insured carrier, please be aware!!!

Some internet shipping websites occasionally have illegal haulers bidding on their loads.   

Many consumers do not realize that in the US it is illegal for transporters to haul anything for hire without having proper federal and state operating authority.

You may check a carrier's MOTOR CARRIER NUMBER (MC) at www.safersys.org to confirm current authority and insurance.

Insurance coverage can also be verified by requesting that these documents be sent directly to you from their insurance agent.

You as the customer or your transportation broker are responsible for checking out the company you contract to transport your vehicle. 

Any fines resulting in the item being impounded by the authorities could become your obligation if you wish to have your item released.  

If your carrier is not certified and fully insured, it is not worth the risk to save a few hundred dollars on your move!
